If I did everything right at the time you read this I'm hopefully already tossing some dice in a desperate attempt to stop the red tide... or maybe the allied advance into the Reich.
As I mentioned in the last post today will see another game of 'Operation Squad' at Axebreakers mansion.
With this in mind I decided to get some more support for my Luftwaffenfelddivision done.
I virtually painted till the last minute and the moment I'm writing this I know Franz and Mike are only minutes away to pick me up.
Unfortunately I ran out of Pigment fixer and so I didn't apply to much pigments only using White Spirit to stick the pigments to the model. Once the already ordered fixer arrives here I'll go back to improve the weathering. I hope you like it anyway:
The 'Puma' is from Warlord Games again. It is not only one of my favourite AFV's of the war, but for the scale of gaming we do it's a perfect fit, I think. Not too powerfull to dominate the game but just right to add some spice.
Ok, the bell rings so I'm off and thanks for watching!
Now that's just brilliant!
ReplyDelete!!! Jaw dropping !!!
ReplyDeleteMore great work! I can't wait to see an AAR with all of these out on the tabletop!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful paint job and some superb weathering - I've always had a soft spot for the Puma, as it was one of the first model kits I ever built, nearly 40 years ago.
ReplyDeleteThis gets the thumbs up for technique, choice of subject, and good old-fashioned nostalgia! Well done!
Nice work on the paint scheme! Love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat painting on the Puma!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on that puma :)
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed the past few posts but these vehicles are f*cking brilliant! I'm so impressed with your weathering - Well done!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you regarding choice of armoured support for this scale of game. I often cringe when I see Tigers, Panthers, etc. being used for essentially infantry support, especially for the Germans where they typically kept their heavier vehicles in concentrated groups. Recce, StuGs, Marders, etc. seem more fitting. It's different for the Allies, who often were spoiled with the amount of armour that was available to directly assist the infantry. Again, great job!
Your vehicle painting and weathering is superb.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing,
Pat.
Excellent work Nick and I had pleasure to see it last night! Sadly, he didn't last long in the game, but you know the drill the unit you finishing painting usually gets wiped out in it's first outing.:-)

Ha! You're right, that is the usual fate of most newly-painted models. Well, it served as a beautiful wreck at the very least.
