Apologies my friends as I've been AWOL (again) for a while. Nothing too serious, but life has a habit of getting a little hectic at times. Also I have to admit I've simply not felt like taking pictures of my progress. It's so much easier taking a snap shot with your mobile phone and posting it to your social media of choice, than investing the time in setting up your 'proper' camera equipment. Make of that what you will, but I hope to get some more stuff posted again over the coming weeks.
Todays offering is the second squad for my 20mm WW2 Germans. These have been sitting around finished for quite some time already. Still I thought they'd deserve to be shown to the wider public. Again they're AB Figures and almost painted up themselves. I've still two more squads to paint and then it's on to the supports.
12 figures worth 4 points each and I'm at 824 points for this year.
Lovely figures, and very nice basing.
ReplyDeleteSuper work there again Nic
ReplyDeleteI understand how you feel as it does take time prepping a blog post, however worth the time to view your beautifully painted figures.
ReplyDeletecheers John
Wooooow. Lovely work!!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous, well worth the wait.
ReplyDeleteSplendid figures and basing as always!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Sweet! These have been worth the wait and AB figures do the best 20mm WW2 figures (IMPO)
ReplyDeleteCheers, Ross
Fantastic as usual Nick!! Your 20mm collection is going to look very impressive!

Great stuff! It is a pain to do a blog post - but in terms of a (semi-)permanent record of one's hobby works it is still the best format.
ReplyDeleteAlmost missed your post, Nick. Fabulously painted as always - love tones you get with these.
ReplyDeleteI find your 'clothing' and 'camo' work a work of art in itself. I hear you regarding the "mobile photos and social media of choice" as I too am getting a bit lazy taking photos. I seem to spend just as much time taking photos as I am modeling/painting sometimes.
ReplyDeleteExquisite painting Nick!
ReplyDeleteCheers
Matt
Superb brushwork my friend. Love these.
ReplyDeleteThough my blogging has dropped off a bit from its heyday a decade ago, I still prefer it to any other social media as it provides a true journal of what I've been doing. While fun for a 'quick fix', Twitter and Instagram are just too ephemeral and fleeting for my tastes.
Just superb - as always! What did you use for the bases? MDF circles? What size? I've been stuck finding something for base my 20mm PSC Brits. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Regular grunts are based on 20mm rounds while weapon teams get a base fitting the team (i.e. prone, walking, whatever). Squad leaders are based on 25mm rounds while Platoon leaders are on 25mm hex-bases.
DeleteSorry to be so late to notice these Nic, but the brushwork is stunning as always. Well done!
ReplyDeleteHi mate, great work.... are you on Instagram by any chance?
