Armoured support for the Republic

Comrade Stalin saw fit to supply some armoured support for my hard pressed Republican force.

One thing I really like about both the Spanish Civil War and the early period of WWII is the armoured support options not dominating the game. In terms of games of Bolt Action this BA-6 counts as armoured car with an armour of 7 and thus may be knocked out by regular rifle fire when shot at from the back or side.
You see, you don't actually need dedicated anti-tank weaponry to deal with most armour in this period.

This time no Empress kit but a Warlord Games BA-6. A nice lump of resin that was a breeze to assemble. Normally I don't base my vehicles but due to some rather flimsy metal parts (i.e. the steps below the doors) I decided to make an exception. Actually I quite like the look of it and may give some of my other vehicles the same treatment.

For more versatility I magnetized the commander and didn't apply any markings. Thus it should serve well as both Republican and Nationalist armour as well as support for when I come round to work on my Russians for Operation Barbarossa.

  3. Beautiful painted BA-6 model, especially like the weathering! It looks very discreet, so obe can see at the first look, this BA-6 is used in more warmer climate.

  5. Just outstanding Nick!! As you know I could not agree more in that vehicles in the SCW are very playable and are not over powerful.

  10. Superb work Nick! The paintjob is really nice and vibrant even with the earthy tones! These early Soviet (and really any) armored cars are always nice to see. Somewhat clunky and unwieldy looking, but that's just part of the charm.
