US Army Rifle Squad

Again it has been a while but I haven't been totally lazy as I managed to paint another rifle squad for my US force. Again I used the great Artizan range by Mike Owen.

I opted for a rather uniform look but also wanted to have some variety for the trousers and shirts. All in all I think it turned out quite well.

As with the previous US figures these GI's also were given the 'Big Red One' emblem on the left upper sleeve using the newish Decal sheets by Warlord Games.

Normally I'm not that big a fan of the Warlord range of products (but somehow I can't stop buying their stuff ^^) but those decals are superb and imho add a nice touch to the finished figures. They pretty well attach to slightly uneven surfaces like small folds of the cloth and definitely safe quite some time in comparison to painting all those small emblems like rank insignia and unit symbols free hand.

The rifleman on the right was a sniper before but as I somehow managed to miscount the amount of packs I needed for the squad he had to be pressed into service.

To complete my US forces I think I need a second BAR for all three of my squads as the additional firepower is to good not to be included for just +5 pts. in Bolt Action.

Thanks for viewing and hope you enjoyed!

  6. Magnificent work! I'd fly to Germany to get a one on one tutorial on how to paint faces like this. I suspect the first step is better eyes and steadier hands than I have. ;-)
