Thus it’s taken me a while to get todays submission done. The PaK38 is a rather nice kit by PSC, but a far cry from Zvezdas offerings. As ever the crew are all AB figures. Frankly the PSC ones, that come with the gun, are utter tosh.Whenever possible I try to stick with Zvezda with my guns, as they‘re so Moiterei_1984http://www.blogger.com/profile/13808567081733803572noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8199544288805806566.post-72399163708452898902022-02-19T14:00:00.001+01:002022-02-19T14:00:00.179+01:00[20mm] Panzer IV Ausf. HFinally got around to finish this 1/72 Panzer IV Ausf. H by Zvezda. The kit is nice enough and despite some rather fragile parts, like the rails for the side skirts, it should be sturdy enough for wargaming. But it comes with the hatches molded closed, something I really can't stand. It's not like separate hatches are so super difficult to handle during assembly. That said it's something that Moiterei_1984http://www.blogger.com/profile/13808567081733803572noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8199544288805806566.post-77056945746202636642022-02-11T12:00:00.003+01:002022-02-11T12:00:00.193+01:00[20mm] Scouts Out! When there’s a option in the force list, no matter how obscure, my brain goes into overdrive and I‘m off to look where to source that particular option from. Luckily enough since my switch to 20mm with my WW2 painting I‘m generally spoilt for choice. SoI thought it best to finally take pictures of the last stuff I managed to finish before the latter kicked off. There are still a few half finished items sitting on the shelf, but these will either have to wait till after the challenge, or I'll have to bite the bullet and Moiterei_1984http://www.blogger.com/profile/13808567081733803572noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8199544288805806566.post-80843097384463202772021-12-23T21:04:00.002+01:002021-12-31T09:59:28.851+01:00[20mm] First Canadian SquadI'm still experiencing problems with Blogger on my Apple devices. Instead of getting better it's getting worse. Somehow I have the feeling they're trying to force me to use their bloomin' Chrome browser as every other browser I've used so far wouldn't work. It's actually not that much, mind. And as I don't even own some of them anymore anyway I can't actually show them all.Still, my 20mm Germans needed some more support options. So here are the first of hopefully a whole lot more.First off Moiterei_1984http://www.blogger.com/profile/13808567081733803572noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8199544288805806566.post-81434223530804013392021-12-02T00:30:00.001+01:002021-12-12T18:49:19.898+01:00More SciFi - Oldhammer Delaque for NecromundaFirst of all I do have to apologize to all of you on whose blogs I've failed to comment. For once it's not due to me being a lazy sod, I swear. For weeks now I've been having issues with blogger on my Apple devices. On some blogs my comments simply disappear. I've not quite worked out why, but it seems rather consistent. Even if the chance of me playing one of their rulesets is impossibly remote, I still am quite a fan of the setting. Or at least of the setting as it was about 10 years ago... but that's probably due to me slowly but steadily becoming old and grumpy.Anyway, earlier this year I've been in my Moiterei_1984http://www.blogger.com/profile/13808567081733803572noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8199544288805806566.post-19661761144013144672021-11-01T19:33:00.005+01:002021-11-27T18:28:17.421+01:00Waffen-SS Eichentarn Winter Colour GuideWell, OK. I've promised to write this Colour Guide for way too lang already. And in actual fact I already posted it on Twitter way back, but as that's not really the most well suited platform for such a thing, I thought I should finally get my finger out and post it over here as well. For this years figure I was at first at a loss as what to paint, when Curt made a fleeting remark about wanting to do a force for OP Moiterei_1984http://www.blogger.com/profile/13808567081733803572noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8199544288805806566.post-55942073887322369272021-10-17T15:56:00.003+02:002021-10-24T19:03:51.693+02:00[20mm] 3rd German Squad and some support Again some time has passed by since my last post. And actuallyI got some more reinforcements for my Germans done. As before these are from the superb range of 20mm WW2 figures by AB Figures.I've been experimenting with my camera settings again in the vain hope to finally get some halfway decent pictures. Thing is they always look different on different screens. Nothing too serious, but life has a habit of getting a little hectic at times. Also I have to admit I've simply not felt like taking pictures of my progress. It's so much easier taking a snap shot with your mobile phone and posting it to your social media of choice, than investing the time in setting up your 'proper' camera equipment. I tried not to go overboard with the weathering and think I've more or less succeeded. Maybe a little more dust around the lower hulls would have enhanced the look even further, but even after all those years I'm still not comfortable with those weathering Moiterei_1984http://www.blogger.com/profile/13808567081733803572noreply@blogger.com15tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8199544288805806566.post-74226557227512022742021-04-18T20:55:00.007+02:002021-06-03T20:34:34.212+02:00[20mm] More Soviet reinforcements & First German SquadFollowing on from my last post today we have some more Soviets as well as the first Germans in 20mm. I'm still on fire and chomping at the bit to crack on with my foray into the world of 20mm wargaming. Thus this the Vaccination Challenge mate Curt has currently declared over on the corresponding blog should be just the ticket to keep me focused. As others I haven't painted nearly as much as I planned for but I definitely painted more than I had hoped for. With this final submission I will have a good few support selections for my 20mm Soviets in games of Chain of Command. A force I hadn't even planned to paint this year at all. It's not like I've already got a good collection of 28mm and a somewhat smaller one of 15mm for WW2.
