Rush for Berlin 6: MG-34 & Rifleman added/ SAGA: Late Romans vs. Vikings

Finally finished the last of the ordinary footsloggers for my Luftwaffenfelddivision.
As Artizan don't do a late war guy carrying a MG-34 I did a little conversion on a former MG-42  shooter giving him the barrel of a plastics MG-34 from Warlord Games. Still need some guys with Gewehr 43...unfortunately There aren't any available from Artizan.

Next for the Germans will be a PaK40, a heavy MG-42 and a mortar team.

-----   ------   -----   -----

Last sunday Franz and I visited Christopher aka Axebreaker to have another great afternoon of gaming and chatting. We played a game of SAGA fielding my Late Romans against Christophers stunning Vikings.
For my Late Romans I used the Anglo-Danish battleboard as I've forgotten to take my other battleboards with me, though I normally use the Anglo-Saxon board. Christopher and Franz together played the Vikings using the Viking board (what a surprise^^). Unfortunately I can't totally recall the progress of the game. So I hope you 'll be content with some photos I shot.
We played using the Clash of Warlords scenario. At the end it was a crashing defeat for my romans as Christophers Berserkers killed my Warlord in the 5th round.

Hope you enjoy!

With a new interest in WW2 round here, your OS figures are of great inspiration. Keep 'em coming! (And I won't mind battle reports as well…*hinthint*)

    1. I like 'em but it's hard to really fix 'em so that they won't rub off.

  9. Beautiful work. That MG34 conversion turned out very nice - well done.(for some reason I always liked the look of the early perforated barrel).
